Actually, I've read several studies that indicate the ability to spell is
similar to the ability to do math.  You either have it, or you don't.  My
friends like to give me these studies whenever they see them.  I'm a
notoriously bad speller.  Not surprisingly, I'm pretty good at spelling in
German.  No hidden letters.
