Good morning/afternoon/evening all,

I assume that by your very presence here on the list that you are a Salinger
lover. Enough of a Salinger lover to want to read sometimes more than fifty
posts a day (presumably) based on the topic on the Old Man and his Writings.
Tim has mentioned before that we have hundreds of members on the list, and
I'd love to hear some of our more silent members speak out. Why are you
here, and what makes you love the man and his work? Is it his writing
style, the honesty of his characters, the spirituality that pervades?

Personally, it's all of the above. And I continue to read his stories again
and again, gleaning more meaning each time that I revisit them. The various
members of this list have certainly helped me to reexamine certain stories
again and again, and I love that the meanings of Salinger's stories are
ever-changing, as I gather more information and opinions. And there's
other, more private epiphanies (in the Joyce sense) that I've had from my
readings over the years.

So, what makes you a 'Fish? I'm curious to know.

Regards,
Cecilia.

(There's been so many off-topic posts lately, that I thought that I'd start
one that is on-topic for a change.)
