There was a movie made in 1949, which was a "Susan Hayward Kleenex-dampener of his "Uncle Wigggily in Connecticut." Which, I take it,(who's Susan Hayward) means bad. The quote from a review among a collection entitled, "SALINGER: A CRITICAL AND PERSONAL PORTRAIT" by Harper and Row. I think it's pretty good. Notably it mentions that he had an iq of 104 (from the bio by the Times). Isn't that quite a bit below average for a writer? Anybody seen the film? -Tory
