I've heard some interesting things about math in some more primitive 
societies.  I heard of one society in which they had the numbers one, two, 
and many.  And that was it.

I think you see this society will never get to even considering something 
like Geometry until they acheive a more developed sense of differentiation  
(and won't need the concept of zero), but at the same time I think you see a 
simple process of differentiation at work as well...
